Watch finance is a loan secured against high-value watches, fine jewellery or a whole collection. Lenders favour pieces with strong resale markets and typically advance around 50% of an independent valuation. The lender holds the pieces in insured, secure storage for the term. We arrange loans over £25,000, often the same day. We work with collectors and dealers, as well as companies, trusts, family offices and high-net-worth individuals.

Our role
Broker, not a lender

You pledge one or more watches as security, and the lender advances a percentage of their independent valuation. You get them back when you repay. Before lending, the lender checks authenticity, condition, service history, box and papers, and title.
Tell us about the watches. Brand, reference, year, and whether you have box and papers. Confidentially, under NDA if you prefer.
Terms from specialist lenders. We bring back indicative terms, and you decide which lender to go with.
Authentication and valuation. Each piece is inspected by an independent specialist. Funds follow once the watches are in secure storage.
Borrowing against other assets? We also arrange lending against fine art, aircraft, yachts and other luxury assets. See luxury asset lending.
Yes. Watch lenders hold the pieces in insured, specialist storage for the term, which is what lets them lend at a meaningful loan-to-value. You get them back in the same condition when you repay.
Collectors, family offices, dealers and business owners with significant watch holdings. Some use it to fund a new acquisition or for working capital; others release cash for a business or property opportunity without selling pieces that may be hard to replace.
Lenders focus on brands with deep, liquid resale markets, such as Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet, because their value is easy to establish. They assess other brands and pieces case by case.
We arrange loans over £25,000, so this typically suits a single high-value piece or a collection. Lenders advance only a percentage of an independent valuation. The watches need to be worth comfortably more than the loan.
Not always, but they help a lot. Original box, papers and service records support authenticity and value, and can improve the terms. Lenders can still consider watches without them.
We keep your enquiry confidential. We can sign a non-disclosure agreement before you share any details, and we only share information with lenders you agree to.
Typically around 50% of an independent valuation, and sometimes more for pieces with strong resale markets. We arrange loans over £25,000, against a single high-value watch or a whole collection.
Yes. Lenders also lend against fine jewellery, on its own or alongside watches. Signed pieces from major houses and certified diamonds and gemstones are the easiest to value. Pieces are independently valued and held in insured storage for the term.
Often the same day, once the pieces have been inspected, authenticated and valued. Larger collections can take a little longer.
Rates typically start from around 15% a year. They depend on the pieces, the loan size, the loan-to-value and your circumstances. There may also be valuation, storage and insurance costs. Rates and fees vary by lender and case.
Tell us about the watches or collection. A specialist will call you, and we can sign an NDA before you share details. Loans over £25,000.
No obligation. We are a broker and may receive commission from lenders.
Capito is a Commercial Finance Broker, not a lender. If you do not repay, the lender may sell the asset pledged as security. Finance is subject to valuation, due diligence and lender criteria. We arrange loans over £25,000 only.
